Dear Friends,
I would like to share a little bit about what’s going on in my life. For the past six years I have been serving as Director of Youth Ministries at River Hills United Methodist Church in Burnsville. In my position I facilitate everything from bible study, pizza nights, and mission trips. Although, my favorite piece is celebrating the ups and downs of teens lives. Ministering to hurting youth is a deep passion for me, as not too long ago I was in their shoes. Thanks to an amazing God, and so many people like you, who loved me I made it. Now, I have dedicated my entire life to “pay it forward” and help struggling teens who are right where I was.
A few years ago I started speaking to teens all over the state. Teens in correctional facilities and group homes, just like the one I was in. As the teens showed inspiration in my talks, they also pounded me with questions. Wanting to know; “How I did this”, “What steps I took”, “Where did I go for help” etc… I realized, I could no longer just speak, I needed to write a book outlining my journey, what I learned, and what I hope for each reader. After all, they might be able to hear me speak once, but a book they would have forever.
“Becoming Beautiful– A Journey of Transformation” has reached many hurting teens all over the country. However, many of these teens cannot afford to purchase a book, and I, only one woman, cannot give them out to all the kids who need and desperately want them. So, as someone who witnessed my journey, and made the difference for me. I am asking you to help make the difference for these kids who so much want out of the pain they live in. Will you prayerfully consider a gift of books? --Bonnie
The list price on the book is $19.95. When you contribute your $20 the money will go for a book and the cost of getting the book into the hands of these vulnerable youth.
